Welcome

Welcome to my blog for friends and family about my 45th Birthday Trip to Africa. I wanted to provide a space for anyone who was interested in the trip to follow as I plan and take this trip of a lifetime. I will occasionally be blogging before departure and will do so daily while I'm on the trip. Hope you enjoy!

Sunday September 9 Morning or Cheetah Brothers

Sunday morning was a glorious morning.  The sun was shining brightly once the mist burned off.  It was nice and warm though a jacket was needed due to the breeze from the open vehicle.  We set off on our drive with the hope of seeing the lions I had seen the previous morning but got a different surprise.  We found a pair of male cheetahs from the same litter traveling together along the fence line.  They kept looking across the fence and Tracey realized that it was a warthog near a house on the other side of the fence.  They'd walk along the road a bit, stop, look across the fence, and sniff.  They did that for quite a while.  It's also unusual for there to be a pair of cheetahs as they litters usually only have one survive.

Here's the wildlife we saw on this drive.

Black Rhinoceros - Has a smaller horn than the White

Steenbok

Giraffe skin that is over a year old.  The sign that there aren't a lot of hyenas at Thornybush.

Wildebeest carcass - same as above
