Welcome

Welcome to my blog for friends and family about my 45th Birthday Trip to Africa. I wanted to provide a space for anyone who was interested in the trip to follow as I plan and take this trip of a lifetime. I will occasionally be blogging before departure and will do so daily while I'm on the trip. Hope you enjoy!

One Day to Go - Morning Edition

Once again, I woke up and realized I didn't do a daily blog update.  I'm hoping this isn't the way it will go over the next few days....

Yesterday was a pretty easy day.  Lots of people were out at work so it was pretty quiet and there wasn't a ton of loose ends I needed to tie up.

As I live in the center of town and park on the street, I left the car at work and walked home.  It's only about a mile and a half.  I was offered a ride but declined because it was a sunny day, forgetting that it was also warm and humid.  I got home with a good sweat going but thought that it would prepare me for some of the locations I'm visiting over the next two weeks.

Other than that, nothing much else went on yesterday.  I spent the evening relaxing and preparing for today.

As of this moment, the bags are fully packed, weighed, and repacked.  Most airlines outside the US are pretty stringent about the amount of weight that can be in a carry-on bag so I wanted to make sure I was under that amount.  I may have to be a little selective about the souvenirs I bring home though...

Last loads of laundry are in process so that the bed can be made and I can come home to fresh sheets and towels.

The train isn't for a few hours yet but I'll have to tour the house to make sure all non-essential stuff is unplugged and it's locked up good and tight.

Here's some photos of the Wallingford train station...
